The Problem Is That We Don’t Let Lawyers Run the White House

Speaking to the L.A. Times, Leslie Jordan was always good for a sassy one-liner if he wanted to get them stirred up. Here’s one of his best. I’ve never understood why the media is so obsessed with the “Clinton corruption.” It’s like they’ve given up on “the Clinton” or “Clinton money.” Or maybe the Clinton money is just a front designed to conceal whatever really dirty dealings he’s been doing.

Leslie Jordan: With that in mind, let me direct your attention to these little pictures that have appeared on MSNBC, in the Washington Post and in the Wall Street Journal.

Now, I don’t know how, or even whether, this is what has been going on. I wouldn’t be surprised if he really is a brilliant lawyer. But I do know that it can’t be good.

If Hillary Clinton is running the government, and the only reason Hillary Clinton is running the government is because she is president of the United States, and all the other branches of government are just branches off of that — if that’s the case, then we’ve got a problem.

I’m not saying there isn’t a problem. I’m saying there’s a problem. And we’ve got a problem when a guy is put in the White House who is, by his own admission, an ex-lawyer. We don’t let lawyers run the White House.

I’m telling you, it’s a mess we’re living in. And that’s the problem. And Hillary Clinton is in the White House because she is the next President of the United States. And if she wins the election and somehow she gets away with it, well, it could mean that we’ll have a government run by a lawyer.
