Manny Pacquiao calls for imprisonment if he wins Philippine presidency

Manny Pacquiao said he would consider imposing a prison sentence on those he thinks have betrayed him if he was elected president of the Philippines. “If I win the presidential race, it is not personal. If I win, I will make everybody accountable,” the 40-year-old eight-division boxing champion said. “Let me tell you, it will be the time for everybody to be accountable because if I win this presidential race, there will be no more backbiting. And if you backstab me, you backstab everybody because there will be no one else who can backstab me.” His declaration of war comes after his former mentor, Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., announced his candidacy for the presidency. Marcos has faced criticism for his bloody rampage against the people of the Philippines during his father’s rule. It also comes after Pacquiao himself faced a brutal statement of his own over the weekend, following his stunning loss in his Las Vegas bout against the undefeated Australian sportsman Jeff Horn.
